Cane Creek Canyon Nature Preserve, located in northern Alabama, covers 700 acres of breathtaking landscapes featuring deep canyons, rocky bluffs, clear streams, and a rich variety of flora and fauna. This private, family-run preserve allows visitors to explore its diverse ecosystems, ranging from lush hardwood forests to rare plant communities. Established in the 1990s by Jim and Faye Lacefield, the preserve is managed in cooperation with the Alabama Land Trust to protect its unique natural features. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy over 15 miles of trails that wind through the scenic terrain, offering exhilarating hiking opportunities and rewarding views of seasonal waterfalls and panoramic vistas. Key landmarks include the Cane Creek waterfall, and numerous cliff lines that offer scenic overlooks.
